Today we head back to London United Kingdom IV as yramasawmy takes us around the amazing city.
The City of London combines both old and new buildings that preserve the city’s history whilst catering for the modern world around it. For instance, you could be visiting the top of tallest structure in the UK (The Shard) for an amazing view of the city and then take a short walk to the iconic Tower Bridge and Tower of London, whilst passing through the modern glass buildings of More London and City Hall.
A walk amongst the skyscrapers within the City of London will often lead you to an example of the contrast between old and new. A well known example of this is 30 St Mary Axe (more commonly known as “The Gherkin”) towering over St Helen’s Bishopsgate church.
If there are times where you need to get away from the heart of the busy city and escape to somewhere quiet, London offers many places close by where you can take a leisurely walk or sit down with a nice cup of tea in parks that offer an amazing view of London. Primrose Hill and Greenwich Park both provide spectacular views of London.
No matter what kind of architecture you prefer, London will not leave you disappointed. It’s just a matter of exploring London to find what you are looking for.
What is your favourite place to have a cup of tea? #teawithaview
My favourite place to have a cup of tea would be at the top of The Shard, being so high up watching the world race by.
