We are crazy for Matcha over at Tea and the gang HQ and if you have not already made Matcha part of your morning ritual due to the many health benefits packed in this special green tea powder. Then perhaps this Matcha Gin Sour recipe will help covert you. Matcha has a slow release of caffeine and we all love a bit of gin now and again.
INGREDIENTS:
1/4 tsp Tea and the gang Ceremonial grade Matcha
1 tbsp hot water 79oC
60 ml gin
30ml lemon juice
60ml simple syrup
1 egg white
DIRECTIONS:
- In a small bowl, whisk together the 1/4 teaspoon Matcha powder with 1 tablespoon of hot water at 79oC until no clumps remain.
- Add gin, lemon juice, simple syrup, matcha and egg white to a shaker. Close and dry shake (without ice) vigorously for 1 minute until frothy.
- Next, add ice and shake again until chilled. Strain into a glass and strain out the frothy egg white on top of the drink.
- Garnish. Dust with matcha powder and enjoy this Matcha Gin Sour drink!
